Ensuring Success at Your New Community
Are you a seasoned senior living professional who’s transferred to a new community? As an A Place for Mom partner, you have access to Partner Central which can be a powerful tool to manage leads and monitor your competitiveness. Here are five tips to help you hit the ground running and ensure success at your new community.
1 – Get access. Log in to Partner Central
- Go to http://partnercentral.aplaceformom.com/
- Click Login, then Sign Up for Free Now
- Register your email. A member of our Partners team will verify and will activate your Partner Central access within one business day
Kayle Jensen, Community Relations Manager for Senior Housing Management, weaves Partner Central directly into her training of new Community Relations Coordinators. “We begin working with Partner Central about day three or four into training. At that time, the Community Relations Coordinator and I navigate Partner Central together to discuss the function of the information for the A Place for Mom Advisors.”
2 РConnect with potential residents and their loved ones. Partner Central gives you quick access to the families we’ve referred, who are prequalified for your community.  Go to Reports, then click Active Leads.  You can sort and export the report easily.  You can sort by date, name of potential resident and their loved one, Advisor and more.  You can export the list to a pdf, excel doc or other formats.
Quick tip: When you’re in Partner Central, click on the hyperlink of the name of the potential resident or their loved one to review the Referral Alert and any Referral Updates.
This is a great opportunity to reach out to each referred family to introduce yourself, re-introduce your community and re-engage.
3 РKnow your competitors. Partner Central gives a window into your competitive market, providing a list of the communities to whom you’ve lost potential residents, and by what level of care.  It also provides an average monthly fee (rent and care charges) for those competitors by level of care.  Go to Reports, and then click Lost Move-ins.   Knowing your competitors – their amenities, levels of care, competitive advantages and opportunities – allows you to better determine and explain the unique value proposition of your community.
Kayle coaches her teams to utilize the Lost Move-ins Report.
“When occupancy is below plan, we use the reports functions to determine where we are losing inquiries to and work backwards from there to figure out where we can better overcome objections. This saves so much times and allows us to determine issues before they become major problems.”
4 РUpdate your online presence. Partner Central is your place to customize your community profile and your public APFM web page.  Your APFM web page is like a digital lobby for your community. Families working with APFM are provided a link to your page, both through the Senior Living Finder mobile app and through their A Place for Mom online portal, MySearch. Families will often have seen your APFM web page before they ever walk in your door, making this first impression a crucial part of the sales process.  Go to Community Profiles and update information on each of the tabs.  In particular, key tabs are:
- Web Page: you can upload photos, your community logo and an introductory description
- Events: you can highlight featured events at your community
- Pricing and Care & Staffing: our APFM Advisors utilize this critical information to determine if your community is the right fit for potential residents
“As a Senior Housing expectation, we require all of our Community Relations Coordinators to update information on Partner Central each month on the 25th”, says Kayle. “This ensures our latest events, concessions, amenities and services are at the Advisor’s fingertips.”
Quick tip: Within the Community Profiles tab, click View Live to view your community’s public APFM web page.
5 РReview best practices.  Partner Central offers tips, best practices and additional resources utilized by our most successful partner communities.  Go to Our Partnership and click Partnership Basics.  You can also click Webinars to register for an upcoming training hosted by our Partners Team.
One of Kayle’s best practices? “After 3.5 years with Senior Housing, I can say without a doubt that information is power. The more information we provide our Partners at A Place for Mom, the better our likelihood of increasing move-ins and occupancy at an accelerated rate.”
