Celebrating the Noble Mission of Senior Living
Last week members of the A Place for Mom Team attended the annual ALFA Conference & Expo in Tampa, Florida where we hosted a Partner Appreciation Event with our special guest, and most well-known APFM team member, Joan Lunden.
The event was a celebration honoring you; each and every senior living professional we are so blessed to work with and collaborate with to help families.¬† It was a privilege to share our appreciation with those in attendance.¬† ‚ÄúAt the heart of all we do is YOU — our partners,‚Äù said Dan Willis, Senior Vice President of Partner Services at A Place for Mom.¬† ‚ÄúWe share your passion for the noble mission of senior living, and are so grateful to YOU for being our partners in this great effort.‚Äù Check out A Place for Mom on Instagram for photos of the event.
A Profound Appreciation for Caregivers
Since her early days in journalism, Joan Lunden has been an advocate for health and wellness.  Joan has been the official A Place for Mom spokesperson for the last three years, and during that time she has become an emissary for senior living.  She has given families across the country the confidence to go to their phones or computers to get in touch with A Place for Mom and start their senior living journey – a journey that ultimately leads to your communities.  At A Place for Mom we share her heart and passion for helping others and for this industry.
“What an honor it is to be here amongst all of you who do so much to care for our nation’s aging population. Your services and staff are tremendous gifts, not only to the seniors but to their families – the siblings, adult children, the grandkids, and friends,” shared Joan.
As a caregiver for both her mother and brother, Joan Lunden developed an appreciation for senior living professionals when she searched for a community for her mom.  “As senior living providers and partners with A Place for Mom, I thank you for what was done for me and my family, and I thank you for all the other families you’ve helped and will help,” said Joan.
A Message to Our Partners from A Place for Mom
At A Place for Mom, we conclude every office-wide meeting by reading “Raves and Gratitude” letters sent to our Senior Living Advisors from the families they help.  It’s an opportunity to remind ourselves that we serve the noble mission of senior living, and that even if there are some of us who don’t work directly with families, we are making a difference in people’s lives. It seemed fitting to close our event with this rave from a family to one of our partners.
Even though the ALFA Conference is the industry’s most anticipated event of the year, we know that many of our partner communities couldn’t be there. We also want to share with you this video that we premiered at our Partner Appreciation Event.  Please watch with our most heartfelt thanks and appreciation for all that you do for the families we refer to your communities.
