Join A Place for Mom’s Online Community of Senior Living Experts
A Place for Mom is constantly striving to find new ways to educate, inform, and aid others in the search for senior living. Our new Q&A Community was created to assist and support seniors and their families. A person can sign up for our site, and users can ask questions related to any aspect of senior living and answers are provided by experts specializing in various aspects of senior living, other users in the community, and APFM employees. As a senior living professional, it’s a great way for you to share your expertise as well as increase your (and your organization’s) online exposure and reputation.
How this helps your community:
- You will be featured as a senior living community expert in our Q&A Forum
- You can share your business and your expertise online
- You can connect with potential clients
What you will get for free:
- A profile page with your bio and a description of your community
- An APFM expert badge
- Increased exposure to families looking for senior living
What this entails:
You will receive a weekly email with a list of questions from seniors and their families. You can reply to the email with responses to as few or as many questions as you like. We will then add your answers to the website for you. You do not need to log into the website yourself unless you want to!
Common senior living questions from the Q&A pages:
- How can I help my mom get along with her neighbor?
- Is it ok to talk to residents when touring a facility?
- Can I visit my grandma in memory care when she first arrives?
“A Force for Good in the Senior Living Industry”
Brandon Schleeter, Senior Living Director at The Fremont in Springfield, MO, approaches being an expert in a balanced way; as both a valuable outlet through which he can help people in need and a catalyst to research and stay on top of the rapidly-evolving senior living industry. “I have to do my own research on questions that I want to be clear on, so there is an element of discovery involved for me,” Brandon explains. “Sometimes, someone else’s answer causes me to think about a situation in a different way.” While there are professional benefits to participating in the online senior living conversation, Brandon admits that it’s not his main reason for becoming an APFM expert. “My #1 job is to be a counselor and first contact to those who inquire at The Fremont and guide them to the solution that is best for the resident. Sometimes The Fremont is that answer, sometimes it isn’t. I see the A Place for Mom Q&A Community as an extension of that calling to counsel families. I can’t provide answers to every question, but I hope to be a positive influence in the lives of families across the country. The A Place for Mom Q&A is a place to be a force for good in the senior living industry.”

I am interested in becoming a participant in A Place For Mom’s Q&A community as an expert. Can you please provide me with information on how I can join? Thank you for your time.
Absolutely! Our Q&A moderator will send you directions on becoming an expert.
I would like to see if our communities can be involved in this and would like to learn more. Please send reply to email above and also to Carrie Scott, our Sales and marketing Director, at [deleted]. I don’t think we have ALL the answers but we do have quite a few!
Great! I’ll ask our Q&A moderator to follow up with Carrie on becoming an expert.
I’m interested in becoming part of the A Place For Mom Q&A for seniors and their families. I have a unique story in that prior to being in this industry, I was in the investment / finance industry. Through my own personal experience with my family (and baptism under fire), I chose to leave my 23 year career in investments behind and begin in this exciting field. My primary reason for making the change was because I no longer felt as if I was able to help my clients to the degree that I did prior. The majority of my clients were seniors, so the transition was an easy one for me. God opened the door with Chancellor’s Village / A Senior Lifestyle Community and I haven’t looked back. I just enjoy paying it forward knowing that one day, I’ll be looking for the perfect solution.
Thanks for all that you do!
Lara
